Police Defuse IED At University Of Maiduguri Entrance
Police in Maiduguri has on Monday successfully defused an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detected at the entrance gate of the University of Maiduguri.
The reports gathered that the he anti-bomb squad personnel were dispatched to the scene, effectively defusing the potentially dangerous explosive device.
The discovery of the IED near Gate 1 entrance triggered panic among staff and students, particularly those currently writing their end-of-session exams.

Investigations reveal that the Police Explosives Ordinance Disposal (EOD) operatives secured the area, maintaining a cordon until they safely neutralized the explosives.
Munir Hassan, a representative of the Student Union Government, informed Yerwa Express News that despite initial panic, the situation in the school is now calm and firmly under control.
As at time of press, both the university and security authorities have not issued any statements regarding the incident.
