Police re-arrest escaped convict Aminu in the Borno border community

The Borno State Police Command has re-arrested another escaped convict, Auwalu Aminu, in Banki, a border community with Cameroon.
The 24-year-old Auwalu escaped from the Medium Security Custodian Centre, Maiduguri, when the perimeter walls collapsed, following the recent flooding of the metropolis last month.
Spokesman of the command, ASP Nahum Daso stated yesterday (Thursday), in Maiduguri that “On October 16, 2024, the police surveillance at Bama Area Command and Banki Divisional headquarters received credible tip-off that Aminu was sighted in the border community.
“The police patrol swiftly responded by apprehending the escaped convict.”Meanwhile, he added that Aminu has been profiled and was handed over to the Nigeria Correctional Service (NoC) for further action.
