Rainstorm kills five people, injures 41 others in Yobe

A two-hour rainstorm has killed five people with the injuring of 41 others in Damaturu, the Yobe state capital.
The injured ones, including children have been evacuated to the State’s Specialist Hospital, Damaturu for treatments.
Confirming the incident, yesterday (Tuesday), in the state capital, the Executive Secretary of Yobe State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Mohammed Goje disclosed:

“Yesterday’s rainstorm has destroyed houses in the Ibrahim, Abbari, Gujba road housing estates,” adding that the House of Assembly quarters, including houses in Pompomari and Maisandari wards of Damaturu council.
According to him, most of the buildings in the housing estates and quarters collapsed, killing four people with 41 others hospitalized.
