Ready to Run Movement takes Hygiene Sensitization to Gombe school

A Non-governmental organization, ‘Ready to Run Movement’ has taken hygiene and drug abuse sensitization to students of Government Junior Secondary School, Deba Local Government.
The movement sensitized students on the need of proper hygiene and effects of drug abuse in the society, on Friday in Gombe state.
The group also sensitized female students on the importance of menstrual hygiene and taught them how to take care of themselves during their periods.

Pads were distributed to the female students as a lot of them couldn’t afford it due to the high cost. They were also taught practical steps on how to use and properly dispose it.
Ready to Run urged the government to aid the eradication of period poverty which is a leading case, “as the price of pads keep going high and a lot of ladies can barely afford it.”
The Team also asked the government to treat the matter with all seriousness as it’s an essential and basic need for the female gender in other to lead clean and healthy lives.
