See How KFP is Bringing Hope and Healing to Inaccessible Communities With Healthcare
Amidst the process of rebuilding war-torn regions, local nongovernmental organizations are emerging as beacons of hope, offering a glimmer of light in the darkness. One such organization, the Khaltum Foundation for Peace (KFP), is making a remarkable difference in the lives of the Laujere community, located in the Jere local government area of Borno State, Northeast Nigeria.
Laujere, like many other communities in the region, has endured immense challenges due to years of the Boko Haram conflict. However, as peace gradually takes hold, organizations like the KFP are extending their support and services to the community, providing a ray of hope through free medical interventions.

Amina Modu, a resident of Laujere, knows firsthand the hardships faced by her community. Recently, she had to embark on a journey spanning over five kilometers, carrying her two-year-old daughter who was suffering from measles, just to reach the KFP center. Despite the arduous trek, Amina’s determination was rewarded as her baby received the necessary treatment. Overwhelmed with relief, she expressed, “It has been a long walk to get here. I’m happy my baby has been treated. I’m now at peace.”
At the KFP center, skilled healthcare professionals are readily available, providing prompt medical attention to those in dire need. Mothers like Amina Modu can now find solace in the knowledge that their children’s health is being taken care of with expertise and compassion.
The impact of the KFP’s work, supported by Médecins Sans Frontières, is palpable in the smiles and expressions of gratitude from the Laujere community. They are elated that initiatives specifically tailored to their needs are making a tangible difference in their lives, bringing them a renewed sense of hope and a glimpse of a brighter future.
