Senator Shehu Buba, representing Bauchi South Senatorial District on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has slammed Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed’s criticism of President Bola Tinubu’s recent nationwide broadcast.
It could be recalled that Gov. Mohammed expressed disappointment over the lack of consultation with state governors before the president’s address.
“He described the speech as “empty” and criticised it for not reflecting reality on the ground and lacking solutions to protesters’ major demands.
The senator made the lamentation in an interview with newsmen on Saturday in Bauchi, saying the governor falsely accused the president without basis.
Buba accused Governor Mohammed of igniting hardship in the state despite collecting a huge amount of funds from the Federal Government.
He claimed that the governor has failed to show tangible evidence of utilising the funds for the benefit of the people.
The senator took issue with Governor Mohammed’s description of President Tinubu’s speech as “empty” and lacking empathy for Nigerians. Senator Buba argued that the governor’s comments were unwarranted and misleading.
The exchange between Senator Buba and Governor Mohammed highlights the ongoing political tensions in Bauchi State.
While the governor has raised concerns about the president’s address, the senator has countered with accusations of mismanagement and neglect of the state’s needs.
The situation underscores the need for effective communication and collaboration between government levels to address the plight of Nigerians.
