By Abdullahi Ahmad Bamalli
Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu has urged for all Nigerian borders to be open and accessible, according to Alhaji Aliyu ‘Yar-Abba, a senior member of the All Progressives Party (APC) in Sokoto.
‘Yar Abba declared the election of Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu and Alhaji Idris Gobir as the new governors of Sokoto State, congratulating Tinubu, Senator Kashim Shettim, and them.
The opening of the border will lessen people’s suffering, particularly that of northern businesspeople, said the former Sokoto State Head of the Bureau De Change Operators Association.

He bemoaned the fact that many local company owners and companies filed for bankruptcy and that the country’s borders were blocked, both of which had a negative impact on the socioeconomic activities in the area.
He, however, said that the traders should be made to pay the requisite duties on all the commodities to be imported.
The APC chieftain further called for the revamping of the security situation in the country to guarantee the safety of lives and properties of the citizens.
‘Yar-Abba also advocated restructuring of the nation’s security architecture and the injection of new blood to improve security in the country.
He also urged the government to take urgent steps to make the nation’s economy more formidable and vibrant.
On the cashless policy, ‘Yar-Abba said: “It is a good system but badly and hastily implemented.
“Its disadvantages far outweigh its advantages. Adequate should be injected into the economy.
