Set back for Tunubu, APC as Northern group dissociates self from Campaigns

The Arewa Concerned Forum (ACOF) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has disassociated from all the activities related to the party’s Tinubu-Shettima presidential electioneering campaigns in the country.
The disassociations of the Forum from the presidential campaigns include the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
ACOF’s National Chairman and Secretary, Bello Lawan Isa and Muhammad Sadis Suleiman, respectively, yesterday (Wednesday), in Maiduguri disclosed that the Forum is an amalgamation of 200 support groups and influencers of the APC ruling party in the 36 states.

“We have resolved to disassociate from delivering six million to the Tinubu-Shettima APC presidential candidates in the 2023 general elections,” said Isa.
Besides, he added that this resulted in the disregard of the Forum’s political affairs by the APC at the national body.
He further disclosed that the “dissociation decision” from the Tinubu-Shettima presidential campaign activities was taken on December 27, 2022, at a general meeting with the various support group in Kaduna, Kaduna state.
Continued; “The groups, therefore, wishes to inform the general public that the APC Arewa Concerned Forum will also hold an international press conference on our disassociation of the support groups in the north.”
He added that the disassociation takes immediate effect in all the states of the federation.
