Setback for PDP as Popular stakeholders join NNPP in Gombe
Former Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Funakaye local government, Alhaji Abubakar Mohammed Kari Bajoga has defected to New Nigerian People’s Party (NNPP) in Gombe state.
Also Dukku local government Financial Secretary of the party, Hon. Bakari Umaru Bawa followed suit as he joined NNPP.
Kari Bajoga joined the party with hundred of his supporters after obtaining his membership card from local government party chairman, Bello Mamuda.
Bajoga said he joined the Party because both the ruling APC and PDP have lost their bearings and NNPP is a party to beat in 2023.
He said, “I joined the NNPP because both the APC and PDP have clearly demonstrated that they’ve lost their bearing in the State and their candidates aren’t sellable to the people of the state.

“With the calibre of people joining the NNPP and the appealing character and outstanding records of its candidate, Hon. Khamis Ahmed Mailantarki, NNPP is a Party to beat in 2023”.
On his part, Hon. Bakari Umaru was received into the Party by its gubernatorial candidate, Hon. Khamis Mailantarki at his residence in Gombe.
Before his recent defection, Umaru was the financial secretary of the party in Dukku local government and he’s the second party’s official from the same local government who have joined the NNPP.
It would be recalled that, the Dukku local government PDP women leader, Asabe Saleh had last November joined the NNPP in the state.
