On the reason for the health campaign, the team leader of the organization Dr Vincent Okpara said the Health summit showcases the health manifesto of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in line with the town hall meetings he held with community leaders.
He said the free medical outreach catered for 5000 people across the LGA, and free drugs and medicated glasses were given to them.
Okpara said the Akko was chosen because the local council is the largest LGA with the highest number of eligible voters.
He said “We have been able to tell people what they will benefit from when Asiwaju Boka Tinibu become the president in terms of the health sector there will be an improved health sector in his time, the emergency medicine is already comatose life will be given to it.
“An average citizen sees an ambulance as something that carries corpses that are not supposed to be so.
“If an ambulance comes close to an individual, it is supposed to give you hope, but an average citizen of Nigeria sees an ambulance as something that is coming to carry a dead body.
‘We came to tell them the emergency health service during Asiwaju will be revitalized. We are about to benefit a lot even with the National Health insurance scheme going to cover more than 70 to 80 per cent to benefit.”
There was a massive door-to-door campaign going on in Akko which was inaugurated after the town hall meeting with community leaders.
Emir of Akko Alhaji Umar Atiku thanked the team for choosing Akko, he told his subject that such a gesture should be reciprocated by ensuring they get their PVCs and vote for Asiwaju Bola Tinibu.
