Shettima visits Sheik Jingir, calls for Unity among Islamic Groups
The Vice Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Senator Kashim Shettima has paid a courtesy call on the National Chairman, Council of Ulama, Jama’atul Izalayul Bid’ah Wa’ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Muhammad Sani Yahaya Jingir at his Jos residence.
Shettima was Accompanied by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Idris Wase, to appreciate the Islamic cleric who had earlier endorsed the candidature of Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kashim Shettima for the February 25th Presidential election.
Others on the Vice Presidential Candidate’s team on the visit included the Plateau State Commissioner for Transport, Muhammad Muhammad, former FCT minister, Dr Modibbo Aliyu Umar; JIBWIS National Treasurer, Hafiz Bala Yusuf, National Chairman (admin), Sheikh Nasir Abdulmuhiyy, Mal. Bawa Kafanchan, Mal. Yusha’u Sani Yahaya, National PRO (Youth), Engr. Muhammad Sani, Deputy Director, First Aid Group, Alh. Rabiu Musa, Head of Intelligence, Alh. Muhammad Gidado, Brigade of Guards Commander, Alh. Abubakar Jibrin, Alh. Abubakar Sani Yahaya, Alh. Haruna Pama, Alh. Bashiru Sani Yahaya, amongst others.

Sen. Shettima later joined Rt. Hon. Ahmed Idris Wase, for a meeting with various Islamic groups at the latter’s residence.
The meeting was attended by the Chief Imam, traditional leaders, and heads of the respective groups amongst others.
The APC vice presidential candidate thanked the Deputy Speaker for the invite, just as he thanked the people for waiting for him despite not being part of the meeting.
Hon. Wase spoke on the need for continuity in good governance and reiterated that 75% of APC’s votes came from the groups and thus pledged more support than the Groups’ importance.
The Vice Presidential Candidate, Sen. Kashim Shettima called for unity amongst the populace and thanked Governor Lalong for the relative peace recorded in his tenure.
Shettima portrayed the qualities of his Principal, adding that Bola Tinubu had always stood by Northerners over time, saying it is payback time for a detribalised Nigerian who would leave no stone unturned in ensuring peace, unity and respect for the sanctity of human lives across the country.
