Sustained support Crucial in combating Insurgency, MNJTF Force Commander

The Force Commander of the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), Major General Ibrahim Sallau Ali, has emphasised the importance of continued support from Troops Contributing Countries in the fight against terrorism in the Lake Chad Basin.
During a courtesy visit to the Chadian Minister of Defence, Mr. Issaka Malloua Djamous, General Ali praised the Chadian Forces’ outstanding performance in Operation Lake Sanity II, a mission that successfully destroyed Boko Haram strongholds and created a safer environment for communities in the region.
General Ali commended the commitment of all Troops Contributing Nations, which has significantly enhanced the MNJTF’s effectiveness in combating insurgent groups. He highlighted the need for increased support to sustain momentum, emphasising that “the fight against terrorism requires a collective effort and unwavering dedication from all stakeholders.”
Minister Djamous reaffirmed Chad’s dedication to supporting the MNJTF, stating, “You can always count on my support.” He highlighted his efforts to facilitate Niger’s return to the coalition, enabling more coordinated operations and a unified front against terrorism.
The visit concluded with General Ali presenting a commemorative plaque to Minister Djamous, symbolising the strong partnership between the MNJTF and Chad.
