Thousands Gather in Bauchi for 49th Nyass Maulud Anniversary, Pray for Leaders
Thousands of Muslim faithful converged in Bauchi on Saturday for the 49th Annual National Maulud Anniversary, commemorating the birth of renowned Islamic scholar Sheikh Ibrahim Nyass. The event attracted participants from across Nigeria and countries such as the United States, Egypt, and Morocco.
Sheikh Mahiy Nyass, speaking at the gathering, urged Muslims to remain obedient to Allah, respect their leaders, and offer prayers for them, particularly during challenging times. He emphasized the significance of prayer and supplication in overcoming difficulties.
Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed echoed this call, encouraging attendees to pray for leaders at all levels, including President Bola Tinubu, to implement policies that improve the lives of citizens. The governor highlighted the event’s spirit of unity and spirituality.
Sheikh Ibrahim Dahiru, another prominent Islamic scholar, expressed gratitude to the Bauchi State government and residents for their support in ensuring the week-long activities were conducted peacefully.
He noted that the Annual National Maulud Anniversary serves as a reminder of the values of prayer, obedience, and respect for leadership in Islam, fostering unity and peaceful coexistence among Muslims.
