In a daring operation, troops deployed for counter-terrorism operations in Kaduna State have thwarted a potential terrorist attack, neutralizing one terrorist and recovering arms and ammunition.
According to sources, the troops acted on credible intelligence to tactically position themselves along the terrorists’ axis of movement. On sighting the terrorists on motorbikes emerging from Mallum forest, the troops engaged them with heavy fire, neutralizing one and causing others to flee into the nearby forest.
The successful operation resulted in the recovery of one AK-47 rifle, five AK-47 rifle magazines, 18 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition, 19 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, two motorbikes, a Techno phone, head warmers, face masks, and a magazine jacket.
The troops have intensified their presence in the area to maintain security and prevent further threats. The public is urged to continue supporting the troops in the ongoing operations to collectively mitigate security challenges.
