Reflecting on past leaders, Prof. Nyityo remarked, “There have been heroes/leaders in history who share this line of thinking.” He drew parallels with luminaries like Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, Abraham Lincoln, and Barack Obama, leaders who worked tirelessly for the common good.
Expressing hope for the lecture’s impact, Prof. Nyityo stated, “The lecture promises to unveil the need to always strive to entrench peace and security in society.” The President underscored the UIAA’s commitment to engaging with the broader Nigerian community, emphasizing, “The hallmark of our Association is not only to connect with our alumni alone but also link up with worthy members of the Nigerian community.”
In discussing UIAA’s contributions to the University, Prof. Nyityo passionately appealed, “As you walk out of this hall after your lecture Excellency Sir, you will observe a dilapidated structure on your immediate right. It is actually crying for a facelift.” This plea showcased UIAA’s dedication to enhancing the university’s infrastructure.
Concluding his remarks, Prof. Nyityo extended warm wishes, saying, “Wishing you a happy presentation of the 2023 Public Service Lecture. To all other members of our very distinguished audience, I wish you happy listening.”
