Mak Nisy, who runs a successful fashion brand stated this in an exclusive interview section with OurNigeria News in Abuja.

The CEO who said her passion grew from childhood, revealed that she had finished schooling and couldn’t lay hold of any gainful employment upon her return from England to be with her husband.
Mak Nisy, who has inspired a lot of people to go into bag making, especially with Ankara, said while she was at home, she thought about what she could do and decided to make bags with the little machine her mum had gifted her as a wedding present.
According to her, She’d go out with the bags she had made and people would instantly fall in love with them. She thought to herself, “It’s a good avenue to start up a business.”
“A lot of people have seen what I was able to do, literally out of nothing. I started this business with less than N5000 and was able to transform the business into what it is today,” she said.
She also noted how she has helped the planet and environment through recycling, by making use of the waste in tailor’s shops. She recycles the wasted fabrics and turns them into something resourceful. “They keep materials they can’t use for anything. When I come I just pack them instead of trashing them”.
The handbag designer said the bags are conceived out of the needs of people, “be it a work bag to fit your laptop, phone and jotter, or a bag that suits a nursing mother who has a lot to carry, it could also be a young girl who just wants what her phone and ATM card will fit in.”
Mak Nisy advised upcoming designers to be very consistent, and unafraid of change and seek to stand out and be better than their predecessors in order to pull their customers.
She urged them to remain focused, plan and execute.
