Veteran Nollywood Actor Dayo “Sule Suebebe” Adewunmi Passes Away
In a heartbreaking loss for the Nollywood community, veteran Yoruba actor Dayo Adewunmi, affectionately known as “Sule Suebebe,” passed away today after battling a prolonged illness.
The sad news was shared by popular Ibadan-based cleric and philanthropist, Ademola Amusan, also known as “Agbala Gabriel,” on his Facebook page.
Agbala Gabriel, the founder of Agbala Gabriel Apostolic Church, wrote: “It’s a pity, Baba Suebebe died at the hospital this morning. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.”
The cleric had been a key figure in supporting Adewunmi during his illness, raising funds for his medical expenses and even providing him with a new home in 2023.
Sule Suebebe was a beloved figure in the Yoruba film industry, known for his comedic roles in classics such as Suku Suku Bam Bam (2004) and Ago Kan Oru (2003).
His career spanned over 100 movies, and he was also a talented MC and TV presenter. Beyond acting, he passionately promoted Yoruba culture through his YouTube channel, Suebebe TV.
The passing of Dayo Adewunmi marks the end of an era for his fans and colleagues who admired his contributions to Nigerian cinema and culture.
His legacy will continue to live on through the memorable characters he brought to life on screen.
