Wamakko donates transformers to 4 communities
Sen. Aliyu Wamakko (APC-Sokoto North) has donated electricity transformers to Bado, Sarkin Zamfara, Old Airport and Mana Karama communities, to boost the power supply to the areas.
A statement from Wamakko’s new media aide, Malam Bashar Abubakar, said in Abuja on Wednesday that the transformers had been handed over to the communities.
Abubakar said that the transformers were each of 300KVA capacities.
“The electricity transformers were given to these communities located in Sarkin Zamfara A and B of Sokoto South local government area of the state.

“This followed a request forwarded to the Senator by the people of the area.
“According to them they had spent a huge amount of money in trying to repair the ones installed for them long ago,” he said.
The chairman of APC Sokoto’s south local government, Alhaji Bello Mainasara said they had since been battling with incessant power outages in their areas.
“With this on the ground, the people of ‘Yar Goriba, Unguwar Diresa, Sarkin Zamfara A and B, ‘Yar Akija and Sabon Titi, among others, will all benefit from the gesture,” he was quoted as adding.
Many people interviewed in the area, expressed happiness with the gesture by the senator and prayed to Allah to reward him abundantly.
They revealed that on so many occasions they have been forwarding their requests to the state government, but all in vain.
Speaking, Wamakko, who was represented by his Director of Administration, Alhaji Almustapha Alkali, promised to always provide succour to his constituents.
The former governor of Sokoto state, who represents Sokoto North Senatorial District charged the communities to use the equipment judiciously, as well as protect them from vandals.
