We want to empower youths, bridge gap in education– Hon Jaafaru Ribadu
The founder and Chairman, of the Empowerment and Education Self-Help Initiative ( EMPED) Hon Jaafaru Ribadu, has said that his passion and commitment towards poverty eradication through empowerment and education was what made him come up with EMPED.
Hon. Ribadu made these remarks when a delegation of professionals paid him a working visit at the Abuja office of EMPED. The delegation which consists of politicians, engineers, technocrats and entrepreneurs went to EMPED because they want to enter into a partnership with EMPED.
EMPED was conceived to help the less privileged with education and empowerment opportunities for enhancing their sustainable development; to empower the youth with necessary hands-on vocational skills and competences; to achieve communities in achieving the overall betterment of human society, and to partner with the government and other stakeholders in carrying out humanitarian activities and programmes.
Also speaking the leader of the delegation Dr MS Abubakar assures EMPED that he will partner with the organisation to help it achieve its goals and objectives.
He said that Dr Abubakar said that entrepreneurship is what Nigeria needs today because government alone cannot provide jobs for our large population.
“I am a beneficiary of the Federal government’s programme on innovative entrepreneurship, and I believe this is the surest path to follow. So I want to commend EMPED for its intervention in job creation through entrepreneurship. It might interest you to know that I am pursuing a PhD in entrepreneurship also because I strongly believe that this is the only avenue to use to make our youths productive.”
