Wildan Care Foundation Calls for Bold Steps in Women’s Education, Economic Empowerment
As the world marks International Women’s Day (IWD) 2025, Wildan Care Foundation has joined the global call for increased investment in women and girls to accelerate progress toward gender equality.
The foundation emphasised that empowering women through education, economic opportunities, and leadership is key to unlocking societal potential and driving sustainable development.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the foundation’s Executive Director, Hajiya Zariyatu Abubakar, and made available to journalists in Gombe on Saturday.
Reaffirming its commitment to advancing the education and empowerment of women and girls, Wildan Care Foundation highlighted the persistent challenges many women face, including limited access to quality education, economic marginalisation, and systemic discrimination.
The organisation urged governments, businesses, and civil society to work collectively in dismantling these barriers and fostering an inclusive future where women and girls can thrive.
In line with the IWD 2025 theme, “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,” the foundation is actively driving programs that support women’s education, vocational training, and mentorship. It stressed that investing in girls’ education today is a direct investment in a stronger nation tomorrow.
The foundation called on stakeholders to take concrete actions, including prioritising girls’ education, especially in underserved communities, to ensure access to quality learning opportunities.
“Enhancing women’s economic empowerment by providing capital, mentorship, and market opportunities for female entrepreneurs. Combating gender-based violence through stronger policies, awareness campaigns, and community engagement.
“Encouraging women’s leadership in decision-making spaces, from politics to corporate boardrooms.
“As we celebrate International Women’s Day, it is time to move beyond words and take decisive steps to invest in women,” the statement read.
“Progress is impossible without women at the centre of development. Together, we can build a world where every girl has the chance to learn, lead, and succeed.”
Wildan Care Foundation reaffirmed its commitment to championing gender equality and urged all stakeholders to turn advocacy into action for a brighter, more inclusive future.
