Yobe most peaceful, secure state in Northeast, says Gov. Buni.

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has declared the state as the most “peaceful and secure” in the Northeast region of the country.
According to him, the military should, however, intensify terrorists’ clearance operations in Yusufari and Geidam border communities, including the ones with Borno state.
Buni made the declaration of peace on Saturday during a Christmas luncheon at Buni/Gari for troops in the front lines of Sambisa Forest.

“The Nigerian Army has recorded tremendous successes in fighting terrorism in Yobe, Adamawa, and Borno states.”
Bularafa stated that this has led to the improved current security situation in protecting people’s lives and property across the state.
“Yobe is one of the most peaceful states in the insurgency-affected region of the country.”
The commissioner attributed the state of peace to the support of the Nigerian Army and other security agencies during the 15-year Boko Haram insurgency.
“The state government, has provided provided support, comprising medical services, hospital consumables and patrol vehicles,” he said, noting that the logistics and other operational support to troops deployed to the state boosted their morale in the front lines of forest.
Addressing troops at the luncheon, the Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), Lt-Gen. Olufeme Oluyede, represented by the Commander, Sector 2 Joint Task Force North East Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK), Maj-Gen. MCE Ejike, said: “Today’s event was to enable officers and men in the front lines to come together for merriments and enhance their comradeship in the battle fields of forest.”
COAS also that Oluyede’s leadership qualities have motivated troops morale, as well as enhancing their professionalism in fighting the insurgents.
He stated that the Army has bequeathed a well-motivated and combat-ready force that discharges it’s constitutional responsibilities within a joint and multi-agency environment.
