Youths, women drum support for Emefeile presidential aspiration in 2023

Director-General of the United Northern Youths Forum (UNYF), Dr Ibrahim Bature has called on the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Godwin Emefiele to run for the 2023 presidential race on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
According to him, Emefiele is the most ‘suitable and competent’ presidential aspirant to succeed Muhammadu Buhari in May 2023,
“Emefiele has commenced agricultural and livestock revolution in the country,” he said, stating that the economy will be sustained with many farmers becoming millionaires in the last five years.
Announcing Emefiele’s aspiration to contest, yesterday (Wednesday), at a news conference in Maiduguri, the Director-General, disclosed: “the youths forum’s continuous consultation enjoined youths as the future leaders of the country.
He added that Emefiele presidential aspiration is based on his impressive track record, including ex-managing director of Zenith bank and current CBN Governor for over a decade.
Bature, who describes the Governor, as a “decent and knowledgeable economist and technocrat has all the leadership traits to boost the economy in the various sectors.
“Our call on the CBN Governor to contest the 2023 presidential elections; is ideological to boost and sustain the economy,” said Aliyu Muhammad Sani, the Spokesman of the youth forum.
He said that the forum is a Northern based coalition of over 40 Northern groups who have membership of voters’ register cards and power to determine who becomes the president in 2023.
He noted that the youths and women have no country other than Nigeria.
“We must do everything possible, within our legal powers to make Nigeria the home we cherish the most,” he declared.

Besides, he added that the call for the organised private sector (OPS) or presidency from the Igbo extraction was to show political relevance that it is united under the federal character sharing formula.
“What is wrong if they lead and we follow?” be asked, noting that the people should learn to live together with a shared and common destiny.
UNYF State Coordinator, Mohammed Danlami said that the presidential aspirant has assisted internally displaced persons (IDPs) during the 13-year insurgency in Borno state.
He said that Emefiele has reactivated the youths’ business outfits, despite destroying their means of livelihood.
He, therefore, assured Emefiele of their presidential aspiration to support him to become the next President in 2023.
