Zulum appoints Gulani as new DG of NEGF

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state, has approved the appointment of Umar Gulani, as the Director General of the North East Governors Forum (NEGF).
According to him, Gulani replaces the outgoing DG, Mohammed Yusufari.
Spokesman of the Governor, Dauda Iliya, in a statement, yesterday on Wednesday disclosed: “Before Gulani’s appointment, he was a Director for General Services in the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation between 2019 and 2022.”.
Additionally, he said Gulani was a representative of the office of the Secretary to the government of the Federation at the Presidential Committee on Northeast Initiative (PCNI) from 2014 to 2019.
During the same period, Gulani was the Deputy Director, Department of Planning in the Ministry of Defence between 2011 and 2013.
He also holds Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Education from the University of Maiduguri in 1985.
The new DG attended several management and leadership courses, including leadership training of UN-Habitat in 2003, International Human Resources, and Personnel Management Course in 2005.
Iliya added that the governor urged Gulani to bring in his wealth of experience in public service and governance in steering the affairs of forum.
While congratulating the appointed DG, Zulum extends gratitude to the outgoing Yusufari for his service to the NEGF in the region.
