Zulum graduates first set of beneficiaries of women skills acquisition centre
Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has witnessed the graduation ceremony of the first set of beneficiaries of the Bura Women Development Association Skills Acquisition (BUWDA) Centre, Marama, Hawul LGA which he commissioned in 2020.
Zulum who was represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo, thanked BUWDA for initiating such a project which has very far-reaching effects on the vulnerable in society, especially, the girl child.
He further pledged to continue to support the efforts of the association.
In her remark, the President of BUWDA, Mrs Asta Paul Thahal, paid special tribute to Governor Zulum for supporting the association to complete the project.

“His support has tremendously led to the successful completion of the centre and today we are celebrating the fruits of this intervention, we are indeed most grateful,” she said.
The women association as a sign of honour and gratitude presented an award of appreciation to the governor and also named the skills acquisition centre after him.
It was gathered that 74 beneficiaries were trained in Computer Literacy, Tailoring, Knitting and Catering skills.
Also present at the ceremony were traditional rulers, seasoned technocrats, captains of industries and key politicians.
