Zulum issues 2,500 CofO to boost Borno land administration, revenues

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has commended the state’s Geographic Information Service (BOGIS) Executive Secretary, Engr. Adams Bababe, for the redefinition of land administration by issuing 2,500 certificates of occupancy (CfO) in five years.
Zulum disclosed this over the weekend while inaugurating the 180-sitting-capacity auditorium and a digitalised studio. “Today’s commissioned twin project is a result of an articulated designs in the administration of land and title holdings,” he said, noting that the completed projects were funded from the limited resources of the agency.
Addiionally, Bababe stated, “BOGIS since 2019 generated about N5 billion from the proceeds of processing of land applications before issuing CofO. According to the him, the auditorium would be used for stakeholder engagement, including board meetings and training staff workshops.
He, howver, lamented the high costs of hiring conference centres in the state.” The town hall meeting would be this year, on critical issues on land administration to overcome the dearth of professionals and other technical staff in the fields.
He added that the digitalised studio was aimed at using strong social media platforms, like YouTube channels, Twitter, Reddit networks, and other social media platforms.
