Zulum pays N5 million scholarship for flyover design in Maiduguri

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno state had paid an N5 million scholarship to Musa Sani to complete his secondary education at the Golden Olive Academy in Maiduguri metropolis.
The scholarship award was made to a the13-year old child for using mud to replicate the first flyover design at the Customs Roundabout.
Pressing the cheques, yesterday (Monday), in Maiduguri, the Governor disclosed: “This primary three pupil from Gwange community caught my attention when he used mud to design the Customs Roundabout Flyover.”
He added that the flyover was commissioned last December by President Muhammadu Buhari.

He noted that he was amazed by Sani’s brilliance to design the flyover for the China Geo-Engineering Company (CGC) to complete the project.
Zulum met the child’s family and offered to approve an N5 million scholarship to complete his secondary education and harness his talents.
Musa was born into a less privileged family living in the Gwange community of the state.
He, therefore, directed the Borno State Education Trust Fund (ETF) to fund Musa’s education.
ETF Chairperson, Prof. Hauwa Biu, presented cheques of Five Million and Twenty Nine Thousand Naira (N5,029,000) and paid into a private school, which Musa is currently attending.
Hauwa thanked the Governor for the offer and urged the child to focus on his studies and make the state proud
