Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has called for love, sacrifice, and peace for the nation’s development at the Christmas celebration.
According to him, Christians are to imbibe the spirit of love and sacrifice to promote good neighbourliness and unity in the state.
In a statement on Wednesday, the spokesman to the governor, Dauda Iliya, said, “On behalf of the state government, I extend warm greetings to my Christian brothers and sisters on this joyous occasion.
“I pray for a peaceful and prosperous celebration.”.
He, therefore, encourages all citizens this season to support the less privileged by fostering a strong relationship in the various communities.
Zulum also emphasised the importance of collaboration in achieving the state’s goals of the 10-Pact Agenda, the 25-Year Development Plan, and the 10-year strategic initiatives.
Highlighting the priorities of the administration, he said, “I’ll accord priority to the post-conflict and flood recovery to improve the living conditions of affected victims.”.
Besides the post-recovery measures, he added, “We’re committed to providing qualitative leadership to drive positive changes in sustaining economic growth and development of the state.”.
He enjoins the citizens to be law-abiding throughout the festive period, as the government is doing everything possible to sustain peace in the state.
