50-year-old Teacher docked for alleged impersonation as police officer
A 50-year-old teacher, Mr. Adebisi Ayodele was on Tuesday arraigned before an Iyaganku Chief Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan over the alleged impersonation of a police officer.
Ayodele an Assistant Headmaster in a public school in the Ikereku-Idan area of Abeokuta is being charged with false representation, fraud, and stealing.
The Police Prosecutor, ASP Adewale Amos told the court that Ayodele had between 2013 and August 21, 2022, falsely presented himself as an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP).

Adewale said that the defendant impersonated a police officer attached to Mopol 16, Abeokuta with the intention to defraud a resident, Mrs. Olufunke Gbadebo.
He said that in 2013, Ayodele stole a set of police uniforms comprising a shirt, trousers, beret, and boot valued N200, 000, belonging to an officer identified as Insp. Segun.
The prosecutor said that the offense was punishable under Sections 109, 390 (9), and 484 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State 2000.
The defendant, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
The Chief Magistrate, Mr. Emmanuel Idowu, granted Ayodele bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum.
Idowu, thereafter, adjourned the matter to Nov. 7, for a hearing.
