AANI Extends Heartfelt Condolences Amid Catastrophic Floods in Borno, Kaduna
The Alumni Association of Nigeria (AANI), led by its National President, Ambassador EO Okafor has expressed deep sympathy for the victims of the devastating floods that have ravaged parts of Nigeria, particularly Maiduguri in Borno State and Kafanchan in Kaduna State.
In a statement signed by Brigadier General Sani Usman (rtd), AANI’s National Publicity Secretary, the association extended condolences to the affected families and communities, emphasizing the widespread destruction caused by the floods.
The disaster has left many homeless, destroyed farmlands, and led to tragic loss of life.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) has described the flooding as a humanitarian catastrophe, further compounding security and relief efforts in the region.
AANI acknowledged the ongoing efforts by the Federal Government, the Nigerian military, and various humanitarian organizations in providing critical support during the crisis, calling their dedication a “beacon of hope” in these challenging times.
The association urged for unified action towards recovery and rebuilding, while highlighting the increasing threats posed by climate change.
