Army Chief Salutes Frontline Troops’ Sacrifices at Christmas, Pledges Improved Welfare
The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, has commended the bravery and dedication of troops from the Joint Task Force Operation HADIN KAI during a Christmas luncheon in Maiduguri.
The COAS acknowledged the troops’ significant contributions to the nation’s efforts to defeat terror networks and violent extremist groups. He urged them to remain committed to their duty, working towards the complete defeat of the nation’s adversaries as the country transitions into 2025.
General Oluyede reiterated his commitment to consolidating ongoing welfare schemes and introducing new ones to boost troop morale and motivation. He also conveyed the appreciation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Nigerians for the troops’ sacrifices.
The Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum, expressed his gratitude to the troops for their sacrifices in ensuring peace and security in the state and the nation. He assured the troops of the state government’s continued support for ongoing operations.
The COAS demonstrated his commitment to improved welfare by laying the foundation for two blocks of 30 family accommodations in Maimalari Cantonment. This gesture underscores his dedication to enhancing the lives of troops and their families.
