The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, has emphasized the importance of improved operational efficiency among tactical level commanders at a 5-day capacity building workshop for Commanding Officers (COs) in Port Harcourt.
The workshop, themed “Enhancing Tactical Level Command and Leadership within a Joint Environment”, aims to enhance the professional competences of COs in confronting various security challenges facing the nation.
Represented by the Chief of Training, Army, Major General Sani Mohammed, the COAS expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his strategic guidance and support to the Nigerian Army.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 6 Division, Major General Jamal Abdussalam, welcomed the COAS and participants, affirming the leadership’s focus on training, equipping, and motivating personnel for optimal performance.
The workshop featured lectures on tactical level command and leadership, career planning, and administrative issues in units. The event also included presentations, group photographs, and tree planting.
The COAS’s commitment to capacity building and operational efficiency is expected to enhance the Nigerian Army’s performance in protecting lives and critical national assets.
