Army Debunks NLC’s False Claim of Soldiers Surrounding Meeting Venue
By Lawrence Audu
The Nigerian Army has dismissed a false report by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) claiming that soldiers have surrounded the venue of the ongoing meeting between the NLC and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
According to a statement from the Army Headquarters, the National Security Adviser (NSA), Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, arrived at the meeting venue with his approved military escorts, as is standard protocol. The escorts will accompany the NSA to the venue once the meeting concludes.
The Army has urged the public to disregard the “deliberate and misleading falsehood” being spread by the NLC regarding the presence of military personnel at the meeting.
This clarification comes amid ongoing negotiations between the NLC and the government, and the Army’s swift response aims to allay any misconceptions and ensure the accuracy of information in the public domain.
