Assault Fallout: InuwYahaya Sacks Four Aides, Reaffirms Zero Tolerance for Violence

Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya has ordered the immediate disengagement of four of his aides over their alleged involvement in the physical assault of Hon. Abdulrahman Abubakar Sheriff, the councillor representing Shamaki Ward in Gombe Local Government Area.

The action followed the conclusion of an investigation into the incident, carried out by a special committee set up by the state government. Findings from the committee, which were also supported by reports from security agencies, prompted the governor’s decisive move.

The Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Professor Ibrahim Abubakar Njodi, who conveyed the decision, listed those disengaged as Adamu Abdullahi Danko, Senior Special Assistant II (Domestic); Garba Mohammed Mai Rago, Senior Special Assistant II (Political); Rabiu Sulaiman Abubakar, Senior Special Assistant II (Social Media); and Ali Ibrahim Baban Kaya, Senior Special Assistant II (Community Relations).

Governor Inuwa Yahaya directed that the disengagement take effect immediately.

He also instructed the affected aides to hand over all government property in their possession to the appropriate authorities without delay.

Reaffirming his administration’s stance, the Governor stressed that his government has zero tolerance for violence, misconduct, or abuse of office.

He cautioned that he would firmly deal with any action capable of disrupting public peace or eroding public confidence in governance.

The Governor further assured the people of Gombe State of his commitment to upholding the rule of law, accountability, and peaceful coexistence, noting that decisive steps would always be taken to protect public order and preserve the state’s stability.
