As a result of this kind of behaviour shown by some farmers, the government this year has withdrawn the support it provides, so that the farmers can understand the importance of the kind of help it provides in agriculture, due to this reason the farmers are now purchasing each bag of fertiliser at the cost price of over twenty-five thousand naira in the market.
Alhaji Hassan Tahir said; “the biggest thing that surprised us was that we did not instruct the farmers to pay this debt with the money, but the farmers have been instructed to pay the debt with the benefit they got from farming the crops, but most of the farmers refused to do that until we take serious measures against them, which is not appropriate”.
