Boko Haram terrorists kill dozen of residents in Yobe

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists have killed a dozen residents the injured two others in the Geidam border community of Yobe state.
The border community with the Niger Republic was severally attacked by insurgents, claiming many life and property.
Confirming the incidents, yesterday (Thursday), in Damaturu, the Spokesman of the Police Command, Dungus Abdulkareem disclosed that the terrorists also torched a school and staff quarters in Geidam.
He said that a retired police officer and two women were among the ones killed in the border community attack.
Adamu Isa, a resident also said: “The insurgents that crossed the River on foot attacked a bar and Government Science and Technical College, Geidam on Wednesday by 10 pm.
“They also slit the throats of 12 people at the bar, before torching a school and staff quarters, east of the border community.
He added that the injured ones have been evacuated by the volunteer group to Geidam General Hospital for treatment.

A security source in Damaturu, who was authorized not to speak on the incident, said: “The terrorists burst into the outskirts of the community from Niger, before entering Geidam on foot to attack us.”
He added that they went straight to the bar and injured two people by 10 pm.
Besides, he said: “The insurgents proceeded to Augwar Kweri where some prostitutes are residing and kill 11 people there,” stating that one person was also killed.
Governor Mai Mala Buni recently lifted the ban on motorcycles with the decrease of an hour curfew in some parts of the state.
Motorcycles are the preferred means of transportation by insurgents in the state.
Yobe State police public relations officer, Dungus Abdulkareem, who confirmed the attack said one of the victims of the attack was a retired policeman.
Two females were also among those killed.
