Buni presents 20 commissioner-nominees to Assembly for screening, confirmation

Governor Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State, has presented 20 commissioner-nominees for screening and confirmation by the House of Assembly.
According to him, out of the submitted nominees, nine were retained by the Governor to constitute the State Executive Council (SEC).

Unveiling the Governor’s submission of nominees, yesterday (Wednesday), in Damaturu, the Assembly’s Speaker, Hon. Buba Chiroma Mashiyo, disclosed: “We’ve today received the commissioner-nominees from his Excellency, Governor Mai Mala Buni for our screening, before their final confirmations by this honourable House.”
He, however, noted that there are 11 new commissioner-nominees for screening and confirmation by the 24 legislators.
He listed the new nominees to include Ali Goniri, from Gujba local council, Musa Mustapha (Damaturu), Ya Jalo Badama (Damaturu), Buba Kyari (Tarmuwa), Kaigama Umar (Yunusari), Ibrahim Jajare (Fune), Mohammed Abacha (Geidam), Yusuf Umar Potiskum (Potiskum), Usman Ahmed (Bursari), Mohammed Gagiyo (Bade) and Sidi Yakubu (Karasuwa).
The re-nominated commissioners included Mohammed Geidam, Saleh Samanja, Dr. Mohammed Lawan Gana, Wakili Duddaye, Barma Shettima, Abdullahi Bego, Dr. Mairo Amshi and Dr. Sani Idriss.
The Speaker, there assured the Governor that the screening and confirmation of the commissioner-nominees be completed this week.
