Chief of Army Staff Celebrates Christmas with Troops in Jos
In a heartwarming display of camaraderie and appreciation, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General OO Oluyede, celebrated Christmas with troops of the 3 Division Nigerian Army and Operation SAFE HAVEN in Jos, Plateau State.
Represented by the Commander Armoured Corps, Major General MS Ahmed, the Chief of Army Staff expressed his gratitude to the personnel of the Nigerian Army for their sacrifices and unwavering commitment to tackling the country’s security challenges. He also charged the troops to remain focused, disciplined, and loyal to constituted authority.
General Oluyede commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his unflinching support and strategic guidance to the Nigerian Army. He reaffirmed the army’s commitment to winning all land battles in defense of Nigeria’s territorial integrity and protecting its national interests.
The General Officer Commanding 3 Division Nigerian Army and Commander Operation SAFE HAVEN, Major General AE Abubakar, welcomed the troops and celebrated their operational achievements throughout the year. He urged them to remain vigilant and dedicated, as the challenges in the Joint Operations Area require continuous effort.
The event was attended by notable dignitaries, including heads of security agencies, senior military officers, government functionaries, and captains of industries. Highlights of the occasion included cultural dance performances, symbolic serving of troops, cutting of Christmas cake, music performances, and presentation of souvenirs.
