…Describes Journalist’s Death As Great Loss To Media Industry, Nigeria
Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya ( Dan Majen Gombe) has expressed sadness over the demise of veteran broadcaster, Mr Timawus Mathias who died recently at the age of 73 after a protracted illness.
In a message of condolence, made available to Northeast Star Magazine by the Director General Press Affair Government House Gombe Mr Samaila Uba Misilli, Governor Inuwa observed that the nation has lost one of its finest Journalists who worked assiduously through his series of reportage, commentaries and personality engagements to promote democracy and good governance in the country.
He described the late Timawus Mathias as a decent and exceptional broadcaster, whose wealth of experience rubbed off on young aspiring journalists through constant mentoring and tutelage.
He said the death of the media guru is a great loss not only to his immediate family but to journalism professionals and Nigeria in general.
The Governor, therefore, extended his heartfelt sympathy to the family of the deceased, the management and staff of Amana Radio Gombe, the entire Bachama Kingdom and indeed the government and people of Adamawa State over the huge loss and prayed to the Almighty God to grant his soul eternal rest.
