Dino Melaye Wins PDP Governorship Election in Kogi

Former Kogi West Senator, Dino Melaye, emerges as the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate for the Kogi State Governorship Election.
In an indirect primary held in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, Dino Melaye won 313 votes, defeating Jabiru Usman, his closest rival, who polled 127 votes. Yomi Awoniyi, a former Deputy Governor, scored 77 votes, while Musa Wada, the PDP’s governorship candidate in 2019, received 56 votes.

Ahmed Makarfi, the PDP Primary Election Committee chairman, announced the results on Sunday.
Dino will be running against the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate, Usman Ododo, a former Auditor General of Local Government in Kogi State in the November 11, 2023 poll.
