Eid-el-Kabir: Association for Good Governance in Nigeria Calls for Peace, Unity, Inclusive Leadership
The Association for Good Governance in Nigeria (AGGN) has extended warm felicitations to all Muslims across Nigeria and beyond as they celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, urging citizens to embrace peace, unity, and collective progress.
In a goodwill message signed by its Convener, Dr. Abubakar Muhammad Sani, and made available to newsmen on Sunday, AGGN emphasized the significance of the festival in fostering sacrifice, obedience, and deep devotion.
“Eid-el-Kabir reminds us of the importance of sacrifice and the spirit of joyful obedience. It is a period that brings together values that are essential for national unity and development,” the statement read.
The association called on Nigerians to use the occasion to reinforce their commitment to peace and national cohesion, stressing that challenges can only be overcome through collaboration, tolerance, and a shared vision for progress.
“As we mark this sacred occasion, we appeal to all Nigerians to uphold the values of unity, mutual respect, and good governance. True change comes through concerted efforts and a commitment to building a better future together,” Dr. Sani stated.
AGGN also reiterated the urgent need for leaders at all levels to formulate policies that promote equity, inclusion, and economic prosperity. It urged political and community leaders to take responsibility for shaping a nation where youth, women, and all citizens experience the tangible benefits of good governance.
The statement further appealed for greater understanding and harmony among Nigerians, beyond the barriers of ethnicity, religion, or political affiliations.
“The message of Eid-el-Kabir teaches us that true sacrifice is about striving for a greater purpose. Let us turn this lesson into action by working together to strengthen our democracy and ensure a brighter future for all,” the message concluded.
