The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Christopher Gwabin Musa, has paid a visit to the troops of Operation Delta Safe to celebrate Sallah with them. The visit is part of the CDS’ operational tour to boost the morale of troops for effective and maximum results.
General Musa extended his warmest greetings and best wishes to all Muslim personnel and their families on the joyous occasion of Eid-Kabir, praying for happiness, peace, and prosperity. He commended the troops for their commitment, sacrifice, and dedication to protecting the nation’s interests in the Niger Delta region.
The CDS praised Operation Delta Safe for safeguarding national assets, ensuring stability, and promoting economic activities vital to the nation’s growth. He acknowledged the troops’ unwavering vigilance and professionalism in combating security challenges and appreciated their sacrifices.
General Musa emphasized the importance of unity, peace, and tolerance, urging the troops to continue working together as a cohesive force. He also acknowledged the support of families and appreciated their sacrifice and commitment.
The Joint Task Force (JTF) Commander, Real Admiral JU Okeke, welcomed the CDS and appreciated his presence. He highlighted the CDS’ concern for the welfare and morale of personnel, which is critical to their fighting spirit.
The Commander JTF reported that his troops, in synergy with other security agencies and stakeholders, have been involved in kinetic and non-kinetic activities, resulting in peace and recovery of weapons.
The event was attended by DHQ Departmental Chiefs, GOC 6 Division, land component commander, Major General JH Abdussallam, FOC NAVTRAC, Real Admiral IM Albara, and traditional rulers.
