General Abdulkalifa Ibrahim Assumes Duty as Infantry Corps Commander
Major General Abdulkalifa Ibrahim has officially taken over as the Commander of the Nigerian Army Infantry Corps, I what can best be described as a significant development in the Nigerian Army’s leadership. This transition occurred during a formal handover ceremony at the Infantry Corps Headquarters in Jaji, Kaduna State.
The Acting Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lieutenant General Olufemi Oluyede, commended General Ibrahim, describing him as a competent senior infantry officer and a perfect gentleman. General Oluyede expressed confidence that General Ibrahim will sustain the momentum of progress in the Corps. He also charged all officers and soldiers to cooperate with and support the new commander.
General Ibrahim, a member of the 39th Regular Course of the Nigerian Defence Academy, brings a wealth of experience to his new role. His illustrious career spans over 35 years, with notable appointments including General Officer Commanding 7 Division Nigerian Army and Force Commander, Multinational Joint Task Force MNJTF, N’djamena. He has received several honors, including the Distinguished Service Star, Field Command Medal of Honour, and Operation Lafiya Dole medal.
As General Ibrahim assumes duty, he pledged to lead the Infantry Corps with integrity, courage, and dedication. He emphasized the importance of teamwork, loyalty, and discipline, urging officers and soldiers to remain diligent and proactive in addressing security challenges. With his proven track record and commitment to excellence, General Ibrahim is poised to make a significant impact in his new role.
