        Legendary Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs dies at 82 Veteran Nollywood actor Olu Jacobs has passed away at the age of 82, after a long battle with dementia and other health issues. Born on July 11, 1942, Jacobs was a renowned Nigerian actor and film executive, widely respected as one of the greatest African actors of his generation. Jacobs began his acting career in England, where he trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts and appeared in various British television shows and series in the 1970s. He later returned to Nigeria and became a prominent figure in Nollywood, starring in over 120 films and earning numerous accolades, including the Africa Movie Academy Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role in 2007. Jacobs' health had been declining in recent years due to dementia, a condition that affects memory, thinking, and behaviour. His wife, actress Joke Silva, had been his primary carer and had spoken publicly about the challenges of supporting her husband through his illness. Despite his health issues, Jacobs remained a beloved figure in the Nigerian film industry, known for his talent, dedication, and contributions to the growth and development of Nollywood. He will be deeply missed by his fans, colleagues, and family.

          Gombe PDP Gubernatorial Candidate lose his polling unit to APC

          Gombe PDP Gubernatorial candidate Muhammed Jibirin Barde loses a polling unit to Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of  APC.

          The Assistant Presiding Officer I Abubakar Salisu announcing the result at  Usman Memorial Bajoga ward 006 in Gombe LGA.

           He said that People Democratic Party Gubernatorial Canditate Alh. Muhammed Jibirin Barde polled 160 while Alh Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of APC  polled 195 Votes and Hon Kamisu Mailantarki get 6 votes.
