GONET Felicitates with Muslim Ummah, Calls for Peace and Unity on Eid-el-Fitr
Gombe Network of Civil Society (GONET) has extended warm congratulations to the Muslim faithful in Gombe State, Nigeria, and across the world as they celebrate Eid-el-Fitr, marking the successful completion of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement signed by its Chairman, Amb. Ibrahim Yusuf, and made available to newsmen in Gombe on Sunday.
The network emphasised the significance of the season, urging Muslims to uphold the values of peace, unity, and generosity beyond the festivities.
“As we mark the end of Ramadan, a period of deep reflection and sacrifice, we must continue fostering love, kindness, and tolerance in our communities.
‘This is a time to strengthen bonds, support one another, and extend a helping hand to the less privileged,” Yusuf stated.
GONET also seised the opportunity to call on Nigerians to pray for the nation’s peace, unity, and stability, stressing the need for divine guidance for leaders at all levels to govern with wisdom and compassion.
“At this critical time in our nation’s history, we urge citizens to pray for our country and its leaders so they may prioritize justice and the well-being of the people, particularly the vulnerable in society.
The organisation further encouraged responsible celebrations, emphasizing the collective duty of fostering national development through coexistence and mutual respect.
“Once again, we wish all Muslims a joyous Eid Mubarak! May this Sallah bring peace, joy, and prosperity to all.
