Gombe State Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, on Friday, led a high-powered delegation of the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the state to the party’s national convention at Eagle Square, Abuja, where Gombe made a remarkable showing among delegates from across the country.
Governor Yahaya, who is the leader of the APC in Gombe State, arrived at the convention in the company of his deputy, Manassah Daniel Jatau, alongside several top political figures and party stakeholders from the state.
The Gombe delegation included the chief whip of the House of Representatives; serving and former members of the National Assembly; the minister of transportation; the former minister of communications and digital economy; the speaker and members of the Gombe State House of Assembly; members of the APC State Executive Committee; commissioners; and other prominent party leaders.
Their presence added colour and political weight to the gathering, with the Gombe contingent standing out as one of the most organised and visible groups at the national event.
The convention drew key figures from across the APC hierarchy, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, members of the National Assembly leadership, APC governors, members of the National Working Committee, and other senior party stakeholders.
Observers at the venue noted the strong turnout and visibility of the Gombe delegation, a development many linked to Governor Yahaya’s growing influence within the party and his sustained efforts at strengthening unity and political mobilisation in the state.
Governor Yahaya has remained one of the leading voices in support of the APC’s national agenda and has continued to play strategic roles in party activities beyond Gombe State.
As proceedings continued at the convention, party members awaited key decisions and formal processes expected to shape the emergence of a new leadership for the ruling party.
