Gov. Inuwa Mourns CP Hassan Gwani, Describes Death as National Loss

Gombe State Governor, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has expressed profound grief over the death of Commissioner of Police Hassan Sale Gwani, describing the late senior police officer as a distinguished public servant whose dedication to national service earned him widespread respect.

 

CP Gwani died on Tuesday at a hospital in Cairo, Egypt, after a brief illness. Until his passing, he served as the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Directorate at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.

 

The governor’s condolences were conveyed in a statement issued by the Director-General of Press Affairs, Government House Gombe, Ismaila Uba Misilli.

 

Governor Inuwa said the death of the senior police officer was a painful loss, not only to his family but also to the Nigeria Police Force, Gombe State and the country.

 

“The passing of Commissioner of Police Hassan Sale Gwani is a painful loss, not only to his immediate family but also to the Nigeria Police Force, Gombe State and the nation at large,” the governor said.

 

He praised the late police commissioner for his outstanding career in the Nigeria Police Force, noting that his years of service were characterised by professionalism, integrity and an unwavering commitment to safeguarding the nation.

 

The governor described the deceased as one of Gombe State’s most accomplished sons, saying his contributions to policing and public service would remain a source of pride and inspiration.

 

Governor Inuwa extended his condolences to the deceased’s immediate family, especially his elder sister, Hajiya Aisha Indo Aliyu, and other relatives.

He also sympathised with the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, as well as the people of Gwani community in Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area over the loss of one of their finest sons.

 

The Governor prayed to Allah to forgive the late police commissioner’s shortcomings, admit him into Aljannat Firdaus, and grant his family, colleagues and loved ones the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
