Governor Inuwa charges new CP on protection of citizens amidst nation’s security challenges
Gombe state Governor Muhammadu Inuwa has charged the new Commissioner of Police in the State, Mr Etim Oqua Effiom, to work assiduously to protect the lives and properties of residents of the State.
The Director-General of Press Affairs Gombe Government House, who disclosed this on Friday in a press statement, said the immediate past CP, Babatunde Ishola Babaita accompanied the new police boss during a visit to the state house.
The visitation follows the approval of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Usman Baba, for the redeployment of some Commissioners of Police (CPs) for operational and administrative effectiveness.
Governor Inuwa, while formally welcoming the new CP, expressed optimism that Mr Effiom, who had served as CP in charge of Force CID in the State, will use his wealth of experience to nip criminality in the bud.

He assured State Government support towards the success of the enormous task before him and his men for effective and efficient policing of the State.
The Governor thanked the immediate past commissioner for his services to Gombe State and for contributing immensely to maintaining security, law and order in the State.
The new CP solicited continued support and cooperation of the government and people of Gombe State towards safeguarding the lives and property of the citizenry.
