Governor Zulum emphasises Critical Role of M&E in Sustaining Borno’s Completed Projects

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State has said that the monitoring and evaluation (M&E) of several completed projects is critical to sustaining them for service delivery to the people.
According to him, the M&E of projects is also in line with the state’s 25-year development plan.
Zulum, represented by his Special Adviser on M&E, Engr. Baba Gujbawu, disclosed yesterday (Friday) in Maiduguri that the training of 20 officers is to equip them with the requisite skills on monitoring and evaluation of all completed projects in the state.”
He charged the trainees to carry out the tasks of monitoring and evaluating all the projects that could impact the lives of people. tr
On tasks before the trainees, Gujbawu noted that they are to track the efficiency, effectiveness, and quality of all the ongoing and completed projects across the state.
He added that other projects to be monitored and evaluated include the ones being implemented by non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Borno State.
In evaluating the projects, he said: “To ease their jobs, vehicles were also distributed to the M&E officers in Monguno, Bama, and Biu zones of the state.
Gujbawu also expected substantive progress with efficiency in the use of capital and human resources to sustain the completed projects for service delivery.
In his brief remarks at the five-day training sessions, the IT Consult Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Mubarak Yusuf, said: “Our firm specialises in capacity building and research, monitoring, and evaluation of ongoing and completed projects in the country.”
He noted that the Borno state government is focused on ensuring the quality, relevance, and sustainability of executed projects across the state.
