Group laud centralization of appeal court sitting in Abuja, Lagos

Group Coalition for Protection of Democratic Rights (CPDR) In collaboration with North East Youth Progressive Union (NEYPU) has commended Federal Government FG for centralization of the court of appeal sitting to Abuja for the North and Lagos for the South.
The joint press conference was read by Amb. Adamu Jikan-Manu on behalf of the Organizations on Thursday in Gombe.
He said the organizations commended the Court of Appeal that was to hold their sittings in Abuja for the North while Lagos for the South, that shows that the Court of Appeal would be fair and work according to the law.

“We are satisfied with the judiciary, especially the Court of Appeal, that they will judge according to the law and protect the dignity of our country Nigeria in the eyes of the world,” He said.
Jikan-Manu appeal to President’s Tinubu, ECOWAS Secretariat Abuja, the National Judiciary Commission and the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), to ensure that justice is done to the people of Kano State,
He added that the court of appeal would withdraw the annulment of the votes of more than 165k as fake votes and recognized them as valid votes as stated in Article 63, subsection 62 of the electoral law as 2022.
“We are patriots, we believe that the confirmation of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf will be good and ensure peace and protect the interests of the community in Kano State.
“We are also calling on foreign countries, legal experts, civil society organizations, to keep an eye on the Kano State Gubernatorial election and to ensure 165k votes is valid votes not fake
“We do not support oppression and sectarian or religious politics. We condemn corrupt politicians,” He said.
Jikan -Manu reiterated that Nigerians and the country will become an example if Gov. Abba Kabir Yusuf is confirmed as the Governor of Kano State
According to him, the election law experts, Civil Society Organizations, and those who observe the election process are all surprised at how the election tribunal court ruled on the Kano State Governorship election.
“It is obvious that Governor Yusuf is the one who was elected by the people of Kano State, he got majority votes which the electoral commission INEC announced Yusuf as the winner.
“We are patriots, we believe that the confirmation of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf will be good and ensure peace and protect the interests of the community in Kano State.
“We do not support oppression and sectarian or religious politics. We condemn corrupt politicians,” Jikan-Manu said.
