Incoming Leaders Should Focus On Revival Of National Economy – Abdulsalami

General Abdulsalam Abdulsalami Abubakar Former Head of State urged the winners and losers of the recently concluded general elections to put aside personal interests and differences and try to revive the national economy.
The former Head of State of Nigeria spoke yesterday at his hilltop residence in Mina after a closing lecture on this year’s Ramadan.
He said, “Elections have come and gone, as always there are controversies from both the winners and losers; my advice is that whatever is the outcome of the court cases, we should put them aside and move forward, for the development and revival of the economy.”
Gen Abdulsalami enjoined Muslims to sustain the pursuit of peace after the month and subject themselves to the will of God.

He urged the people to be hopeful and practice the piety of the month of Ramadan beyond the month.
The former head of state further admonished Muslims to reflect on the denials of the month as enjoined by God and continue giving arms and work for peace.
He said to work for peace, one must love his neighbour, and be his or her brother’s keeper through understanding and deliberate pursuit.
